Time Never Stops

It has been a very long time since I wrote a blog. Writing and sharing is something that is not very easy for me. No matter how many times I wish time would stop so i can take a breather, it never did and it never will. I want to continue posting here and learn how to share. Here are few things that have happened since the last time I posted:

-This past summer I got a job... as a lifeguard at a water park. At times it was overwhelming, stressful, but yet rewarding and fun. I met some great guests and other not so great guests. The not so great guests gave me some great times though from yelling at me because there kid was to short or because I told there kid no, and everything in between. But kids are entertaining and adorable. One day on my way out a kid came up to me and told me thank you, and held his hand to shake mine. It was one of those moments that I will never forget.

-Being with my friends and talking about what we are doing or how the world is doomed. Taking some time and enjoying company and relaxing.

- Ran two half marathons this year.

-San Diego Comic Con was a lot of fun. Went to a few parties and had free food and drinks. I love not worrying about dinner... I would like strollers banned from the exhibit floor next year and babies. A mom yelled at me because I almost crashed into them... It is not my fault the floor is so packed with people. And honestly I do not know why a baby would be at comic con. The con had some really cool swag this year a Dalek foam hat to an exclusive Superman t-shirt. Also thank you to whom ever turned in a black camera bag to lost & found. It meant a lot. :)

-My dog, Shadow, passed away.

This year alone has had a mix of happiness and sadness. Alas that is life. 

Watched The Muppets Take Manhattan with my friends at the beginning of the year. And it seems like this has been a theme for my 2012 year. It is funny how a song can have more meaning to a person when they are older than when they were a child.  

My 24+ hours at Disneyland

My family and me arrived at 10:15 at Pumba parking lot. We got a great parking spot. And also we were part of the first 2000 people in the park. (In the end did not matter.) We waited in line with some very nice people. And the Cast Members were very friendly and helpful. At 12am we were singing Happy Birthday to my sister and some people in line decided to join in as well.

I did not sleep at all because it was to cold. But a lot of fun. Thankfully IHOP was open and I was able to get some coffee around 3am. We than went through back check around 5am. Than we stood in front of the entrance waiting to be let in.

We all started a 5 second countdown to 6am, and than they let us in. Here is where it went crazy. Being the first 2000 people we thought oh it is guaranteed that we will get a hat. WRONG! When entering the turnstiles we thought they would pass them out right than and there. But WRONG AGAIN! We had to fight through a crazy mob to even try and get a hat. And by than they were letting people in without wristbands and the workers were not even checking wristbands. It got crazier. Thankfully, my family all got one. But honestly it remind me of when I had to try and get a PAN AM bag at comic con.

After this craziness we split up. Mom went to go purchase the special merchandise, and my sister and me went to lockers. We than went to get some breakfast at Jolly Holiday, and it was very delicious. My family we moved to Frontierland and sat at the Back Stage Door Cafe seating area. It was overall very empty.

I than left my family while they napped on the table and went around to take pictures. The first thing I notice was a filming being done in front of Pirates of the Caribbean area.

I went to go see the filming on the bridge. On my way I took a picture of some pretty plants in Adventure Land.

And here are some shots of  Modern Family being filmed. Many people stood around to watch them film, especially since many people had 23 hours left in the park.

After like two takes I left to go take some pictures around the park.

I really love how bright and beautiful the flowers are around Disneyland! After taking some pictures I went back to my family who were still asleep. And even though I was getting hungry, food would not be served until 11 anyways. But by 10 I was so ready for lunch!

We went to Pinocchio's Village Haus for lunch. We all had a Chili Cheese Burger and Fries. It was really tasty! Even though for me the chili was a little spicy. 

Afterwards we went to do some more shopping. And than went back to Jolly Holiday for some Abuelita Hot Cocoa. I was really cold all day, not sure if it was really that cold or I was still thawing out from the night before. 

We than went on Pirates and Haunted Mansion, and I some how went to sleep. Honestly this help me keep going for the rest of the day/night.

Around 6ish we sat down across the Big Thunder Ranch area and surveyed the area for any lines being formed for the Midnight Snack the Disneyland Blog was doing that evening. While waiting i spent some time on the iPad, and some family showed up to join us for the rest of the time. 

Around 7 a line started forming, and around 7:30 the line was moved to the other side and it became the official waiting line for the line that will be formed at 10pm. Around 9 it got really crazy with people starting to mob the front. And when a security guy came everyone started saying something along the lines of "what are you going to do? Pepper spray us?" I think Disneyland has an image issue right now. But a little while later someone else came and dispersed the crowd. And moved us into the petting zoo area, where it became the official line for the event.

We had to sign some release forms and around 11:15 we were allowed in for our snacks. They had coffee and hot water for hot cocoa and tea. Than a table full of chocolate deserts! The table had Chocolate Shots, Chocolate covered Strawberries, Cookies, Rice Krispies Treats, and Hot Chocolate Fondant! Honestly my favorite thing from the table was the Hot Chocolate Fondant. I am not a chocolate fan but it was the most delicious desert I ever had at Disneyland!

After this we all went to go watch Fantasmic. It is celebrating its' 20 Anniversary! It was a lot of fun. One of my favorite shows in the park. We all decided the Dragon is alot cooler now! It moves its' head a lot more!

We than went to go grab some dinner after this. And since many restaurants were extremely packed, we went to Jolly Holiday. I had the Lobster Bisque, which was really tasty! I was not expecting to be as good as it was. 

And than we made our way to the Golden Horseshoe for the 2:45 showing of Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. We saw 3 shows. It was a lot of fun! I think this was a lot more fun than the normal shows they do. After every show they would get a standing ovation and it is well deserved. 

After the last show we started making our way out of the park, and decided to catch a show at the Enchanted Tiki Room. So many people were taking naps while the birds were singing or some people were singing along. After the show we were going down  Main St. and decided to wait for the countdown to 6am.

They played a bit of the Mickey Mouse Club song. We went to go grab our stuff from the Lockers and headed out. To see a nice surprise of employees cheering and givibng high fours to people who were exiting the park.

 I had a lot of fun. I heard that it got really crazy outside the park and even inside, but honestly I never saw that. I knew wait times for rides were crazy but I honestly expected that from people who were telling me or Twitter that they were all going to show up past 10pm. Doing the 24 hours was crazy, but worth it. I would not change a thing.

Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY! It was a very magical experience, and over all the CM were very helpful and try to make it a pleasant experience for everyone.

My Comic con experince

I arrived Wednesday and we went to the Cartoon Network Pizzeria. But we decided not to eat there because the pizza didn't look very fresh. Looked like it sat there for hours. But the place looked nice and my sister liked this picture.

In the end we went to a restaurant Las Hadas on 4th street. It was soooo tasty! They had the best coconut shrimp I have ever tasted. And the servers were very friendly. After roaming the streets we returned to the hotel to get ready for Thursday. 

Thursday morning we went to see if we can pick up the Friday-Sunday badges. But the line was very very long, so we decided to go to Petco Park area for the Real Steel event. On our way I got a text stating Cowboys & Aliens gold bricks will be given out on 9th street. My friend and me ran all the way there... I found out running 9 blocks in wedges can give you blisters. And in the end we did not get a brick and a premiere ticket. We tried to other times but we never got a brick, but in the end we figured it was not meant to be.

At the Real Steel event Hugh Jackman came out, and he was super nice. He did a Q&A with fans and gave away free stuff. He also went into the crowd with autograph posters and he took pictures with people, before the security guards came and took him away. It was a lot of fun and it was cool to see him.

After this the next panel we went to was Stan Lee and Yoshiki. It was an entertaining panel. It was surprisingly very funny.

 Also the panel before this one was with Rick Baker. He had a video of what the audience will see in MIB III. Overall it looks very interesting and he was interesting to listen to. Also I think he was the only person on a panel I saw this weekend who was drinking wine instead of water.

We than made our way to Hall H. Where they had a panel discussing The Drive and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. We caught the end tail of this panel, and what we saw was a clip from The Drive. Which Was a little traumatizing... All I can remember is the a guy beating up another guy's head to the point when they show the head, it was all beaten in. That scene was, I think, the most traumatizing scene I saw that weekend.

Damon Lindelof and Andy Serkis for the panel for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. By now I have seen the movie. And I really really enjoyed it and hope it gets some nominations for the OSCARS.

The Jon Favreau and Guillermo De Toro Panel. It was entertaining and very fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was fun to hear them talk about projects. They even brought up Magic Kingdom and the Haunted Mansion. I really hope they will be at D23 this weekend. :)

Friday:

This is The Adventures of Tin Tin movie. Which was great to see Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. We saw some exclusive clips and I really think this will be a good movie. I cannot wait for it to come out! 

In the middle of the panel Andy Serkis made a surprised appearence!

Personally I think it was very creative of him to wear this shirt. Since you cannot vocally ask for anything, he made a shirt. And in the end it worked out!

John Cusack on the panel for The Raven. Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorite writers. And this movie is a must see for me. the clip they showed looked interesting, and I think it will a good movie. 

Nicolas Cage at the Ghost Rider 2 panel. I never watched Ghost Rider before but I will totally go watch this one! They showed us some footage of the directors doing camera work. And at points were its a stunt person is flying off the cliff, the person flying off the cliff getting the shot is the director. It was very amusing panel and makes me want to see how the final product comes out. Therefore it became a movie I will see when it comes out.

Saturday:

This is the Twixt Panel with Francis Ford Coppola and Val Kilmer.  It was an interesting panel because the way he got the idea for the film came to him in a dream. And i find it interesting that they can change he length of scenes. I hope i can attend a screening of this movie in October.

My Last panel was Once Upon A Time. The writers will be at D23. But I am so happy to have gone to this. The show looks amazing! And I really hope it doesn't get canceled. It was also fun to watch the pilot with LOST fans because we all caught some LOST stuff in the episode. Someone asked if it will be a show you have to think or just a show you can relax? They responded that it is for both. Which I am glad because they have minor details in the show that made me think AWESOME! 

On Sunday my friend and me couldn't get into the Doctor Who panel. We decided to go to the Terra Nova truck, where they had an oxygen bar and a green screen to shoot you into the preview. We later went to grab a Pan Am bag being given away at the Hard Rock Hotel. Where it got ridiculous with people just grabbing the bags and being rude to the "flight attendants" giving the bags out.

We than went to the Exhibit floor and walked around. Before Sunday was a lot calmer than it was this year. So many people that it made me think twice if it was really Sunday. I also went to the Nintendo lounge which was lots of fun. It had such a relaxing atmosphere. The people there were extremely friendly and it made me happy to be a Nintendo fan. I also played the Skyward Sword and it was fun! I cannot wait to buy the game! 

Overall it was a fun experience and going to comic con is so much fun. Of course I am exhausted come Monday but it feels great. :) I hope I can go next year and enjoy the experience of being with so many great fans.
